Case Studies:

Remy Martin Specialty Box

Client: Remy Martin

An advertising company wanted a sales kit with very specific inclusions for Remy Martin cognac. Karl Grummich worked with the company to understand their needs and meet their requirements. A substantial amount of material had to be incorporated into the kits, including racks with test tubes full of soil samples and other materials. The contents of the kit were so heavy that the box frame had to be made from wood by a cabinetmaker. Bridle leather from a saddle shop was required for the straps so they would have the strength to secure the wooden box and its cargo. Little drawers were built into the boxes to hold various pamphlets with accordion-folded panoramic pictures and text describing the quality of the Remy Martin cognac. Glass test tubes in wooden test tube racks were built into one of the book-like drawers.

These sales kits employed engineering and creativity with impressive results.

  • A golden tassel and golden metal knobs were the pulls for the various drawers.
  • Bridle leather straps with buckles formed the closure for the kits.
  • Straps and handles were riveted onto the boxes' leather-covered wooden frames.
  • The Remy Martin logo was foil-embossed on the front of each sales kit.
